Professor Marina Freire Gormaly was a member of the university's delegation to the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York City. The delegation led a panel discussion titled "Water Security, Disasters, and Resilience in a Changing Climate: Challenges, Opportunities, and Solutions," focusing on water security and climate change. This panel was among the select side events included in the conference program. The UN Water Conference was co-hosted by the governments of Tajikistan and the Netherlands. Link.

Professor Marina Freire-Gormaly appeared on a special Earth Day podcast episode on the "This is Lassonde" podcast to discuss her innovative research. She spoke about her focus on advancing environmental sustainability and aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goal #6—Clean Water and Sanitation.
